This evokes a Last-Man type of narcissistic myopia. It's important to close the "gender wage gap" but it's not important that fathers raise their own children? And a man being coerced into penetrating a woman is not being "raped"; this is a clownishly horrifying modernism, although I'm sure that the CDC will soon change expand their definition to adapt with the culture.
The median age of an American in 1800 was 16; today it is 38, and 42% are obese. We are a sickly, decrepit society. Perhaps, as in your last paragraph, people should do things differently, but we shouldn't have ended up here in the first place.
> The CDC calls “men penetrating women without consent” rape, and calls “women forcing men to penetrate them” something other than rape, because almost every employee of the CDC is overtly politically biased.
Wow. Even after all the Covid bullshit, I have never wanted to burn the CDC to the earth and plow the ground with arsenic as much as I do right now.
Well, I suppose if some of my "friends" at the time saw fit to gaslight the hell out of me, it shouldn't shock me that the government would too.
Good article...lots of good points. However, there are two additional points that I feel should be considered. 1) What right does nine elitist hypocritical justices wearing black robes have to tell people in Georgia what to do with their lives? Should that be up the the state of Georgia and its people? This is a classic 10th amendment situation. The Federal government has too much power. If the 10th amendment is too quaint for folks...why bother having states? 2) As you pointed out, this is a moral issue...and really...what good is it to fight via legal and the law? We have this divisive society which we see right now. Seriously, if Christians are so opposed to abortion, why is it that over 1/2 of the women going to clinics for an abortion identify as Christian? Instead of protesting in front of clinics and attacking abortion doctors, why not minister to the hurting women in their congregations? Why not explain why a child is a gift from God no matter what. It is certainly easier to stand on a street with a placard...but what would Jesus do?
Quite agree the new law has a date impossible to meet, perhaps the purpose. It's tragic that we must have any law at all. The agreement that abortion is awful is universal, but sometimes is necessary. I imagine the best solution lies with both parents and a medical provider. I recall being a stupid teen and having worries about my girlfriend when both of us were impulsive back in those 1950's. Today we could get the pill and not worry which seems obvious in cases of rape or incest. Beyond stupid teens, one would think pregnancy prevention quite easy by either partner. But abortions because of inconvenience? The morning after pill is ~ $15 and the abortion pill (Mifepristone) is ~ $30 but requires an Rx. So even if you 'mess up', the morning after is cheap and OTC.
