I just don’t know how you can cook without 48 pages of Tumblr bullshit about that time the kids put socks on the dog and then let it go outside and when it came back in then she had to clean whole fucking house like a good trad wife, blah blah blah STFU already I’m here for the fucking Pad Thai recipe and why hasn’t Google down-ranked the fuck out of her already?
In case you couldn’t tell I am in relatively violent agreement with you...
"you scroll past a giant wall of anecdotes and stories nobody cares about, along with photos and links to other recipes, only to find a description of how to cook the recipe before they actually give you the ingredients list, and then the recipe itself is at the bottom."
Hahaha. So true. Thanks for that. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
You make a lotta points. You make a lotta sense. Your recipe makes me salivate. If only this flat had an oven or even a place to put one, Peace, Maurice
I agree with you re online recipe websites. I found a way around that: download the Recipe Keeper app (by Tudorspan) and it will upload only the recipe to the app, without all the popup ads and stories. The app isn’t free, but it’s worth it.
We started our turkey late, so we made this with the first lousy Langers cider we found and didn't soak the turkey long enough. It was still delicious. Thanks!
I got this too late. With work and everything I will have to try it on my next turkey. I don’t only do turkey on thanksgiving so I won’t have to wait too long. Thanks.

I like the Alton Brown turkey brine. But I might try this one this year.
Or not, I dunno, I'm super lazy these days.
There's a handy link on alot of online recipes I look at that says "jump straight to recipe". It gets in the way of a frustration tale though!
Once you've brined & defrosted, do you pat dry or just start roasting?
disable javascript and the ny times paywall isn’t
This looks really delicious. You're inconsistent about the amount of cider, though. Do you usually use 1.5 gallons, or 3 quarts?
3 quarts, I goofed that up, fixing it now.

"Based Cooking" is unironically the most useful recipe website I've found yet. Very belated happy thanksgiving.

Also wonder if a brine will go good with a smoke in the treager? Anyone?

Yeah I wanted photos so I waited until I made mine, which I knew might put it too late for some to use this year. IIWII
