Interesting. Given the anti-trump fever of 2019, if there was anything in the Maxwell “little black book” that in anyway implicated Trump, it would have been leaked even at the the risk of taking down the elite of the woke crowd.
It's not about the zinger. The early part of the article said, as a core point for the "Epstein Knowns" section: "But the egregore didn’t seem to know that, and that’s important for what follows." It's important! You said so!
Then it just evaporates with, well, a fairly passive zinger: "haha, didn't pan out for nuffing!" ... that "That's important for what follows" made me wait for something important - you promised! - through the whole piece, and it occupied part of my cognition, looking for fulfillment, only to have "it didn't pan out for them" as the takeaway,
Excellent point about the Epstein Egregore not being a controlled entity. Even if it was consciously semi-created to fill a "niche" as Jordan Hall described Egregore engineering almost a year ago, the Epstein Egregore slipped the reins.
One point about Egregores being Singularity artifacts. I doubt Egregores are processing anywhere nearly as fast as you appear to assume. Yes, the Egregores are higher order beings than humans, in the sense that Paul Vanderklay would describe such things, however their speed of processing information is much slower than ours.
Any being can be considered from both the Emanant and Emergent perspectives, but let's stick to the Emergent here. The persona named BJ Campbell is emergent from the neurons of his brain. The neurons of that brain are emergent from more fundamental particles - atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, positrons popping out of the zero point field, etc.
Each sequentially higher level of being operates cognitive or para-cognitive informational processes at slower rates than the next level down. BJ Campbell's conscious thoughts operate more slowly than the chemical, electro-chemical and subcellular information-exchange processes of the neurons. The neurons operate more slowly than the momentum-exchange, electrostatic and nuclear force information-exchange processes of the particles.
And whereas a human being can process information and come to conclusions in fractions of a second, the egregores appear to form and move on the scales of hours, days, and even weeks. These things still ARE higher level beings, however I doubt they are moving at the speeds traditionally ascribed to uber-AIs in Singulatarian thought. Indeed, the ever slower rates of processing may put an upper bound on how many levels above human that higher level egregores can propagate.
How would you measure the processing speed of an egregore? The sticky part of that calculation is that our neurons in our brains fire 1s and 0s, where as memespace entities (using the Rutt terminology) fire entire ideas.
I'm not sure. That's like asking the neurons (the lower level beings in the Vanderklay/ Vervaeke corner) to characterize BJ Campbell (the higher order being). The neurons may "perceive" that a higher order being rides above them, yet how do they characterize him at their level? The human nodes in the Superorganism would appear to signal in a manner more complex than binary. Maybe - how do the lower order beings validate this? At the same time, there are small world network effects that need to be included - so swarm mathematics probably factor in. I don't think that Physicalism and Emergentism/ Ilya Prigogine's work is sufficient. Attempted apprehension by lower order beings (us) may well require basic postulates and Emanantism. God or Pantheism/ Panpsychism. Or Mathematical Idealism. Validating these models would likely be entirely empirical - attempt the "summoning" of an Egregore and observe the effects. And is such validation even possible for a lower order being? I suspect that an updated version of Aristotle's hylemorphism (substance and form) needs to be worked up - Energy and Entropy. Not sure how. There are strong parallels between Platonic Forms and Chaos Attractors/ potentially nested layers of attractors/ higher order beings.
What are the odds someone (or entity) is holding the proverbial nuclear option with regards to blackmail info and decides to send the US into a full tizzy by releasing the info in 2024?
I'm not even sure it would work TBH. We're so deep into the sensemaking crisis at this point nobody believes anything. We have verified evidence of UFOs in US airspace as of 2020 and nobody batted an eyelash.
Great analysis, and a good case for the "Epstein Egregore" being uncontrolled. I do still wonder about the possibility of successfully "controlled Egregores." Could something like QAnon be an example? It was certainly manufactured with intent, an agenda, and captured a lot of people. It was also actively maintained / fueled, at least for a time.
> Based on that piece, I voted for Gary Johnson because I deemed him to be the least likely candidate to be captured by an international pedophilia blackmail scheme, and for that choice was ostracized by many of my friends. Such is life.
Hey, I remember losing those friends too. Good times, good times. Of course, as a New Mexican libertarian adjacent individual, there was basically no chance I'd have voted for either of the other two "real" options, and I presumed that anyone who had known me long enough to call me a friend would have known that, but still...

Good article, but the promise of the Trump tie-in got a lot less emphasis than it should have, IMO, given the promise early in the article.
"They thought they would get trump, instead they got a circular firing squad."
Meh, they can't all be zingers.

It's a structural thing.
I made an adjustment, see if it clicks better.
It does, and thank you.

Huh?
Would be pretty sweet, considering the milk is essentially already spilt.
