Good piece - one quibble. I think with the Tuskegee Experiment, the govt didn't intentionally infect them - it was mostly knowing they had it and then not telling them so they could observe the long-term effects (I'm not saying this was better, it's just more accurate)

I had read about it some time ago from multiple sources, and it seems clear. Now, it would appear that there is conflicting information -- I personally don't believe this conflicting information, but I can now see where you would have gotten it. I see that the CDC also has an FAQ page since 2009 where they deny it, which in this case of course means nothing at all from the CDC, and as of December 2020 they added a notice to the page saying "This page is currently under review by CDC to ensure the content is accurate and verifiable."

In 2009 their FAQ answer was just "No," then later they added more fluff words but no substantial elaboration. I don't believe the information on that FAQ page.

I don't know of any source denying that people were intentionally infected with syphilis as part of the experiment. Have you read about it?
